The last time I was in New York for my  Aveda “Barbershop Confidential” video shoot, I had the pleasure of being hosted by The Evelyn Hotel in NoMad.  This Beaux Art gem features a mix of traditional and modern design elements in a fantastic central location.  I have a somewhat strange obsession with bathrobes, and The Evelyn did not disappoint with its stash of Frette bathrobes (and bed linens).  Greeting me when I arrived after a painful cross-country red-eye flight was a large tasteful suite, a bottle of wine and a hand-written Welcome note from Management.  I headed straight for the Jacuzzi tub (who wouldn’t, right?) and relaxed in a steaming hot mix of C. O. Bigelow bubbles.  Heaven.  While the hotel does not have a restaurant, they do offer a different kind of room service thru Caviar Food Delivery.  Instead of being limited to a single room service menu, you can order anything from Caviar’s list of restaurants and have it delivered within 60 minutes to The Evelyn.  The hotel was quiet, the staff both professional and accommodating, and the room was spacious and tasteful.  As I checked out, I thought, “I could live here.”  And that’s the greatest compliment I can give to a hotel…
